News for the UChicago community

In October UChicago president Paul Alivisatos, AB’81, called his inauguration “a time to reflect on the arc of a common journey.” The UChicago Magazine looks back at the 535th Convocation below, and on the eve of Giving Day, April 6 and 7, the president’s words seem equally apt. We at Short List are glad to be on this journey with the UChicago community.

For an example of the groundbreaking research Giving Day helps support, keep reading to the Postscript, where you’ll meet a PhD student in the emerging field of sound studies. She’s already making waves—and so are these students, who share their ambitions to build a better tomorrow.
